Tariqa Tijaniyyah - Part One - The way to The One

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the most Merciful. Prayers and peace be upon His messenger Muhammad ibn Abd Allah, his noble family and those who follow him in truth until the End of time.

al-Hamdu liLah, after years and years searching for “my” sufi path, I’m finally “home”. I’ve been searching and searching, reading and reading, asked questions and discussed with many great brothers about the many noble turuq to Allah Most High. I frequented Shadhili circles and studied the principles of the noble ways of the Shadhilis and the Naqshbandis.  But no matter how great their teachings are, my heart did not respond properly.

About a month ago, Allah tabaraka wa ta’ala guided me to the path He wants me to travel. He subhanau wa tal’la planted the thought in my mind that I should investigate the Tariqa Tijaniyyah. What then happened is amazing, and I praise our majestic Lord for His guidance! After reading just a few articles, my heart connected immediately. SubhanAllah!

So what should I do next? I did not now any tijani people. Did I have to go to Senegal or what? No, no…when Allah gives you guidance and an opening, He also makes it easy to follow the way He has pointed out for you. I found a contact form at www.tijani.org and from here I got in touch with a muqaddama in the US, whom I asked for help. She worked fast and gave me the contact info for the muqaddam in Copenhagen. And to make it even easier for me, the bus stopping outside my door goes directly to the door of the muqaddam.

I met with him Thursday August 4^th and after an hour of instruction on the basic rules of the Tariqa, I was initiatd and given the awrad of the Tariqa. The next evening, I attended my first hadra that is celebrated after Asr prayers every Friday. I met the local group of tijanis and received an amazingly warm welcome. I was home. I was greeted not only as a brother, but as a new member of the family. I never received such an instant love before, as I received during my first meeting with my fellow tijanis.

I thank God from the deepest of my heart. He has guded me, and given me the greatest gifts by guiding to Iman, Islam and pointed out the path to Ihsan.
